IDE Installation Guide for Mac/Linux 64-bit

This Installation Guide shows you how to install the OpenLegacy IDE on a Mac or Linux machine.

OpenLegacy IDE Prerequisites

Before installing the OpenLegacy IDE, make sure you have:

Developer Station Requirements

  • Java Development Kit
  • Mac OSX or Linux, 64-bit
  • At least 4GB memory (recommended 6GB)
  • At least two dual processors
  • 10 GB free disk space
  • For Screens only – Telnet (terminal) connection to the host application (AS/400 or Mainframe)
  • For SAP only - SAP JCo connector, proprietary connector supplied with SAP GUI installation

Additional Considerations

  • Relevant ports should be opened in the firewall according to the needs of the project.

Installing the OpenLegacy IDE

  1. Double-click on the OpenLegacy installation provided.
  2. Select the installation path or leave at the default setting (/home/openlegacy/OpenLegacy).
  3. Click Next.

The Target Path message screen opens:

4. If the target directory displayed is correct, click OK

The Licensing Agreements screen opens:

  1. After reading the Eclipse Public License, click the I Accept radio button and then click Next

The Select Installation Packages screen opens:

  1. Select:
    • OpenLegacy IDE
    • Maven Dependencies
  2. Click Next.

The Installation screen opens.

OpenLegacy will install the IDE and the Maven Dependencies now.

When the installation is complete, both bars are orange:

  • Pack installation process
  • Overall installation process
  1. Click Next to continue

The optional OpenLegacy License File screen opens:

  1. This step is optional. If you have purchased an OpenLegacy License, click on Browse… and select the license file.

    Note

    Leaving this field blank will install the 30-day trial version of OpenLegacy.

  2. Click Next.

The Installation Finished screen opens.

  1. Click Done.

(tick) You have now successfully installed the OpenLegacy IDE.
